Hand-built Porcelain Malas

Fine art for healing, meditation, and visual INTRIGUE

I have collected prayer beads, from all over the world for years during my volunteer travels. They are some of my most beautiful, cherished treasures. traditionally Malas, or Japa Malas, are made of 108 beads, sometimes with spacers, always with a guru bead or Mother bead, THOUGH I have found them in all sorts of patterns, and materials WITH various QUANTITIES of beads and embellishments, They all Hold and radiate a deep sense of love and CENTERED peace, -AND offer the PROFOUND reminder: be right here. now. in this precious moment.

IN LATE 2019 i HAD A CRYSTAL CLEAR VISION that Included me making GIANT MALA BEADS, -BIGGER THAN ANY I’D EVER SEEN. THE VISION BECAME AN OBSESSION. NEVER HAVING WORKED WITH CLAY, I REACHED OUT TO A FEW CERAMICISTs I ADMIRE AND THEY WERE GENEROUS WITH THIER KNOWLEDGE. I BOUGHT A SMALL KILN Along with EVERY TYPE OF PORCELAIN I COULD FIND, AND I SPENT THE NEXT YEAR DEVELOPING An intimate RELATIONSHIP WITH PORCELAIN CLAY.

I set out to create A stunning art piece That would bring healing, calm, curiosity, and beauty to ANY space. I practiced formING, refinING AND, finishING for months. From all of the manifesting and Experimenting with materials, meditations, and processes, These Precious, hand-built Mala beads emerged radiating dynamic healing energy, AS WELL AS CHIC BEAUTY AND INTRIGUE.

Healing energy and intensions ARE INFUSED DURING MEDITATIVE formation WHILE IN its green state. carefully SELECTED MATERIALS can be ADDED to support specific energy and healing such as semiprecious stones, crystals, AND/Or minerals. THEY MAY BE incorporated into the GREEN porcelain ITSELF, MIXED INTO GLAZE, or placed ATthe heart of the guru bead BEFORE FIRING.

Strung with various materials, but most often leather, the Giant Malas ARRIVE ready to use in your meditation and healing practice, to ground your sacred space, Or as a FINE art piece ready to hang on a prominent wall, or draped across a large vessel or shelf.

Each MALA IS numbered and stamped with the artist’s Mark and year. Due to the labor and time intensive processes involved a LIMITED number of malas will be offered each year.
